Eira and I grew up very close as children - she was often TOO close - like when she was sitting on me and punching my back! Seriously, we were always happy children in a great home and I count it a great privilege to be part of a family who stay in contact with each other on a regular basis. Eira left home from Felixstowe (after I had gone to college) and moved back to London, where she had been born. She initially lived in South Norwood and worked for the Salvation Army at International Headquarters but she soon moved on to a new job and got involved in 'payroll'. Moving again to Cyborg in Orpington Eira rose through the company ranks to be a leading figure in the organisation and she stayed with the company for nearly twenty years before leaving in late 2006 for another company based in Lincoln.
Eira moved out to Kent, firstly to Gillingham then later Burham and Snodland where she bought a brand-new house to live in with Luke. When Eira married Danny they moved to a bigger house in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire which they have worked very hard on, with a garage conversion, lovely garden and, to top it all, a lovely log-cabin complete with Jacuzzi and pool table. And now they are selling it to save on commuting!

Eira was born in the Salvation Army Mother's Hospital, Hackney, London in March 1964. 'Family Homes' for Eira included Clapham, Newport, Bargoed, Knottingley, Heckmondwike, Camborne, Torquay, Tunstall, Bedlington and Felixstowe - from where she fulfilled a long time ambition to move back to London.

Eira in 1984 - just turned 20 at Marc's graduation. By this time Eira was living in the West Norwood area of London.

After several years in London Eira moved out to Gillingham, then to Burham, in Kent, with her partner and his family and in February 1993 she welcomed baby Luke Shane (below - firstly with his cousin Lewis - they were born just 8 days apart, riding the 'horsies' with cousin Kira Jane, in a family group in 1997, in Disneyland in 2001)
Eira and Luke later moved to Snodland and into a lovely, brand new house where they lived until late 2001 when they moved again to Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. Eira married Danny Hammond in April 2002. Her dad, Major Ken Harry was going to perform the ceremony but, sadly, he died just 5 days before the wedding. As it turned out most of the family stayed in the area after his funeral on the Friday for the wedding next day. It made for a strange weekend! For wedding photos please click HERE.
